Ray Greene Sunfish?

Hi all, I hope someone out there can answer a few questions about our boat. Last year I bought my 11 y.o. a beat up Sunfish to repair and sail so he could learn what it takes to repair and maintain boats if he wants to sail. Here's the thing, it's not actually a Sunfish, it was made by Ray Greene. I have scoured the interwebs and can find no info at all about this boat. Everything is the same rigging wise. Sunfish parts fit perfectly. We are flummoxed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post a picture and you'll get lots of answers. There were a lot
of Sunfish clones and small boat manufactures in the sixty's.
A great many only produced a dozen or so boats before
they vanished. A few were unscrupulous enough to make
a fiberglass mold of someone else design.

Here's some pics.

As your boat is in far better and more complete shape than mine, I hereforth bestow upon you the title of "Forum Ray Greene Surf Sailer Expert".

I have one piece of trim left on mine, it is different than my Sunfish trim.

I'm liking the cooler just behind the splash guard...and the collar around the mast hole. But what really sets it all apart are the wash rag holders in the cockpit.

As I remember on the cooler portion, there was a board with a step in it, the top was padded and a bungie to a loop at the bottom of the cooler.

I guess you put your toes under the towel bars? It has a hiking strap. ??????

Our cooler cover is made of marine plywood and it does indeed have a strap.

Thanks for all the info guys, we really appreciate it. We are putting "Hornet" in the water today for the first time. We'll post some pics later.

She was pretty rough when we bought her last fall. The hull was pretty beat up and badly repaired so we took out all old repairs and filled and reglassed it. She had all the pieces and parts although we had to make a new tiller arm and the centerboard and cooler cover will need to be redone this winter. The trim is in fairly decent shape.
