What is the optimum weight for a laser radial, and what is the lower and upper bounds of ther competitive weight range?- I've been told I'd be too light at 55kg, what do you guys think?

Use the search function and look thru the threads here, it's been discussed repeatedly..

55kg is really the bottom end
Im 60kg and started Radial racing at about 57kg
I reckon the best weight to be to race a radial is 65-70kgs but to sail a radial it jsut depends on the wind, im fine up to a F6

man i reckon 58-60kg is the best weight for 4.7 (thats what i was) i started sailing radial when i was about 62-64kg and struggled alittle until i got to about 68kg. I reckon the best weight for radial is 68-72kg. I'm 71kg's now and starting to sail full rig in the light stuff im ok up to about 10-12 knots but i have to work my arse off. I'm also tallish about 6 foot 2 and 15 years old so yeh i reckon it also has alot to do with your fitness and height.

i'm 16 5ft 9 and weigh about 60kgs n i seem fine in the radial unless its really blowing
