Hobie sells a float for the top of the mast. Has anyone sprayed foam or inserted a solid piece of Syrofoam in the top 18 inches of a Laser top section for the same purpose?
All our club Lasers have bottles on the top. 2L for the Standard and 4L for Radial and 4.7. As the mast gets shorter the turtling gets worse. We have a shallow muddy estuary to sail on. Yes, not cool/sexy but it gets members home.
