Prescription Eyewear

I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for prescription eyewear for out on the water. They would obviously need to block UV.

I use my regular prescription glasses, which have a UV coating, and then wear polarized sunglasses that fit over them. Sailing dorks unite!

One can also get prescription sunglasses with a 'polarizing' coating. More in general, sun lenses will absorb most of the UV.
For instance, For Eyes states 'All sunglasses carry full UVA & UVB protection'.

Merrily's solution is probably less expensive.

I've lost plenty of sunglasses sailing, even with a strap. I'd like to find some sort of watersports goggles where you can get prescription lenses.

Yes, they are available, but will cost you a bundle. And doing it over the internet doesn't make it easier because getting a proper fit is an issue.

After loosing expensive prescription eye glasses and having another pair scratched with salty water, I'm now using disposable contact lenses and polarized sunglasses.

A friend gave me these sunglasses: http://www.intensitysails.com/wawasu.html and I found them OK for sailing when using contact lenses.

Regards,
Rodolfo
