Picture of Canvas Hatch Cover for Mod2

Somewhere on this forum I saw a picture of the snap-on canvas cuddy cover for a Mod2 Capri 14.2. I have looked for two days and cannot find it. I ran across it on an unrelated thread and, if I remember correctly, it was a post from 2006. If anyone can find that post and direct me to it, or if you have one and post a picture of it, I would be extremely grateful.

I'd like to make one and liked the one I saw in the picture.

I wonder if someone who's done the Mod 2 to Mod 3 conversion would sell you theirs (cheap)? I have to admit that I don't always use mine; the stuff that I put in the cuddy usually stays in place just with the shock cord that's there to hold the forward hiking straps up. Sometimes it's nice to put odd ends of lines in the pocket, but it's really not essential (at least for me). But I think I'll keep mine (at least for now).

I hope this helps. I keep my boom stuffed inside the Mod2 box while the boat is stored in my garage. The box canvas cover has a couple of snaps around it, with velcro across the the top, and a zipper across the front.

I keep a telescoping paddle and other gear/water bottles stuffed up in the box, so the canvas bag does not stay in it's original location. I had to replace the bungee across the box opening, I replaced with dacron rope and I keep a couple of carabiners on it. Then I can clip water bottles, dry bag, and the canvas bag onto the carabiners. I leave a little slack on the line so I can stuff everything forward into the box.

Fabulous! That is exactly what I needed!!! I'm taking the pictures and my boat to the fabricators on my lunchbreak today. I may add a net pouch on the outside...and I knew the extra carabiners I bought would come in handy!

Incidentally, one of the main functions of that bag is for stuffing the Main and Jib Halyards into after raising the sails. I have actually used it for this purpose and it does keep things quite tidy. It's bad enough having to step over piles of main and jib sheets all the time

No Kidding!

We took "Snazzy Blue" out for our maiden voyage last weekend and I was amazed by the abundance of rope in the boat! I had ordered some great velcro ties for the shrouds and ropes for transport and used them in every conceivable way to hold bowline, halyards, etc out of our way.
I have to brag some, off subject of course, but we sailed for 3 hours with gusts up to 5 mph (!) mostly minimal wind and I was able to teach my husband a whole boat-load (sorry for pun) of things. I taught him about identifying the wind direction (two cheeks--easy for some hard for others), feeling the wind's weight on the sails, the feeling of the boat with the centerboard down and up and in-between; We tacked, jibed, went wing-on-wing--it is a great boat and we had a great time. When we got up to "full speed" he said gleefully "we're really going now!" Hope we have a few more easy days before he gets the real picture--pure exhilaration! Glad we got out of there at 11 a.m. those motor-boat guys are nuts!
