Three time Olympic medalist, Paul Foerster, won the Arlington YC (DFW metroplex) FishFest Regatta & Area F Semi-Finals for the US SAILING Single-Handed Championship for the O’Day Trophy this weekend. Greg Gust is the runner-up followed by Gerard Coleman, David Hoye and Ellen Burks. We had a total of 24 boats from Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas in attendance.
There were 10 races on Saturday followed by Chef Gayle's expertly grilled Rib-Eye's (an enormous slab of cow), baked potatoes, green beans, killer chocolate brownies and other goodies plus lots of cold refreshing adult beverages.
A front passed over during the night and left us with a Level Red Ozone Action Day for Sunday. Needless to say there was no wind so everyone got the opportunity to get home a little earlier than expected
Paul will now represent USSailing Area F (Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Kansas, + parts of Nebraska and Missouri) at Sayville YC on Long Island sound in August.
