North Carolina Sailing

Hello all,

My mom lives in Beaufort, North Carolina, which is near Morehead City, and about 2 hours from Wilmington. I am planning on spending most of my summer here in NC and am wondering if there is any racing around this area, and if so, how I can sign up. Anybody have any info? I don't know the area's clubs around here, so the D12 website is pretty much meaningless. :confused:
 
Wrightsville Beach CYC is hosting the Nationals in 2 weeks, also there is a good schedule on the CYC website for what is going on this summer. You won't be disappointed.
 
Oriental Sailing Club may have some active boats. They host a masters event every year, (that will be 1 ferry ride and about 45 min of road time north of Beaufort). Check the schedule on the D12 site. The rest of the site is weak, but the schedule shows you that D12 is an active district if you don't mind a little travel.
