Note... this is a fun event with everything from inexperienced sailors to some very competitive racers. Sunfish are almost always the most popular boat. If you ever wanted to give a regatta a try, this would be a good one!

  • Join us June 28, 2014 for our annual “Cat Rigged Regatta”

  • PLEASE NOTE: Races are open to all “beach boat’ type boats, i.e. Sunfish, Lasers, Force 5’s, and similar boats with one sail and one skipper. (please contact Andy Atwater – [email protected] if you have questions about the appropriateness of your boat)

  • All boats will race together, and Portsmouth handicaps will be applied.

  • This is not a sanctioned event, so class legal sails and foils are not required. There are typically some very competitive sailors, but also relative beginners. Younger sailors with at least some racing experience are encouraged to participate.

  • You will need a valid PA fish Commission or PA State Park launch permit to participate.

  • Skipper’s Meeting at 10 am on June 28 at the sailing club shed (in the Killbuck Area of Prince Gallitzin State Park). Weather permitting, racing will start at 11 am.

  • We will break for lunch (which will be provided), and complete racing by 4 pm, with a brief awards ceremony to follow.

  • Cost is $15 for adults, and $5 for Juniors under 18.

  • Registration deadline is June 21, 2014
