"Uncleat the Main: 101" But ya, good on them for 'having a go'. I mean, come on... how many of us never learnt anything by making similar mistakes when we were first learning how to do this thing called 'sailing', hmmm...? heh heh Looks like they're not the only ones having grief out there as well...

Actually [back on-topic], I've been watching a few of those videos on YouTube on sailing Lasers, and they've actually helped me 'visualize' certain situations I've been reading about, and have been able to apply reasonably successfuly while I've been learning to sail my new boat. Mind you, I haven't had a screaming windward death-roll yet, so I guess I'm still a noob in that department, huh? heh heh :p
 
Yes, I think he brings the down too abruptly. A little slower and smoother would accelerate it more.

I like his last one - he didn't bring it down quick enough!

I think he is bringing the boat past flat and leaning to windward which makes the boom want to come back, and also he needs to ease more sheet out to allow more propulsion.
