They are better in many ways but they do have a tendency to move inboard along the traveller whereas the old traveller blocks do not seem to do this.
Aside from that they are all good and, unless you are racing at the very top level, the slipping inboard is unlikely to be an issue.

As Jeffers pointed out, the reviews are mixed. If you find the taping of the old system a major hassle, do make the change. Otherwise, no advantage.

The standard old-school blocks on the boom and traveler look to be cheap pieces of crap, but on the boats I have owned they have been incredibly rugged and trouble free.
