There is no such thing as a race boom. Any boom should do. And booms often can be straightened.

Thank you for your help; trying to find any boom local 'cuz shipping outrageous. BUT this is what Laser sells as the Sunfish "Race Boom" part # 89413: "This racing version of the Sunfish boom has blocks plus clam cleats for midboom adjustment of outhaul & cunningham from the cockpit".

You can remove the cleats from your old boom and put them on the new one, or just buy a pair of these. Aluminum Clam Cleat CL211 MK1 - Melges Sailing Supply
