New laser hull!!

My guess is you would be better off selling off the parts from your old boat (or keeping them for spares) and buying a complete used or new boat.

What's you insurance position - for most comprehensive poolicies if it just failed in normal use you probably aren't covered but such damage caused by a failure in a capsize would be covered. My boat is a 16000 number but those lovely insurance people bought me a nice new hull last year!

Incidentally, in the UK, you can only buy a new hull through PSE but you can have your hull repaired by the sub-contract manufacturer. In my case the Loss Adjuster agreed to have the hull redecked and I negotiated to have the hull replaced if I paid the difference. In the end the new hull (cosmetic 2nd but I can't see why!) was cheaper than redecking. Unfortunately I couldn't persuade the Insurer to replace the hull and pay me the money saved against the redecking price!
