Neil Pryde Sunfish sail area

im guessing the sails are actually racing cut sails instead of "normal cut". i mean think about it aps and intensity sell theirs at roughly same price, so it makes sense they want to compete on the same level with the "practice racing sail"

Isn't the Sunfish sail traditionally 75 square feet in area?

I never understood why the sail was listed at 75 sqft...<grin> you can do the math or visit: Triangle Area Calculator - Side Side Side
Our sail area is based the total area of all the panels...and remember the sails are not flat...there is a lot of luff round and foot round...

bob, I've done the math.
and used that calculator at the link you provided.
I even drew the sails up in CAD.
13.33 x 13.33 x 14.5 = 81 square feet

either way, I'm not sure it is that big of a deal!
