My rudder is wack

My rudder angle on my sunfish is set at less than 90 degrees (parallel with the transom).

What disadvantages/safety issues does this cause? Do I need to change it to 120 degrees?

Again, I am not a racer so it does not have to be class legal, but I want to perform ok.

Thank you for your help,

Matt

unless your rudder is broken and causing it to go down in the water like that than there shouldnt be any safty problems. as for the angle i believe the closer it is to 90 the better your stearing will be in high winds.
