Had a reader (thanks Andrew!) of my Sunfish sailing blog reach out to me about mainsheet ratchet block mounting options for a Minifish, particularly wanting to know if it could be done without cutting in an inspection port.

- Looks like a backing block for sure where the hook was originally installed
- I mounted the Harken H150 cam cleat in that same location, so no issue there
- At the top of the deck, looks like NO backer, and if anything, there is a bit of extra fiberglass and resin where the daggerboard trunk was mated to the deck... so for my mainsheet ratchet block, I had just installed it with the larger fender washers snug tight and nylon locknuts to keep it from unscrewing.
- It does seem like you could skip the cleat and mount a ratchet block where the hook is... but I’m not sure how the mainsheet angles will play out...
