Message from ILCA North American Secretary: End of the nomination process...

Hello all,

I am happy to report that the nomination process is now complete.
Nominations closed at midnight last night and all candidates have now
received a second. All candidates, the District Secretaries who nominated
them and the secretaries that seconded the nominations are posted on the web
site.

I want to personally thank the candidates and the District Secretaries who
have participated. We have one or two candidates running for each position.

The campaign period runs through midnight on November 14th. After that time
District Secretaries will be asked to cast their vote in a message to me
(North American Secretary) and a yet to be named (by the Executive
Committee) election observer. The observer will be a member in good
standing who is not currently a class officer (hopefully somebody who is
respected by all members).

Between now and November 1st candidates are invited to submit material they
would like placed on the web site. It will be posted on a daily basis. No
editing of any kind will take place and documents will be posted in pdf.
format. Please visit the Web site frequently if you are interested in
getting to know the candidates, their professional backgrounds and their
motivations for seeking office.

Please note that from this time forward, until the votes are finished being
counted, I will attempt to carefully differentiate the e-mail I post as
Secretary verses anything I posts as a candidate running for reelection.
Official correspondence will be delineated in the subject line and I will
sign it, formally ILCA-NA Secretary.

As always, I am happy to answer questions about the by-laws in general, this
is how we have been voluntarily running the class this year, and specifics
on the election process.

Best regards,

Mark Kastel
