I think you need to be sitting a little bit more back in the boat to keep your bow from plowing into the bottom of the wave. There may be some information on that topic in the "Sunfish Bible". If not, maybe you can write an additional chapter!

Also note for all who attended the 2004 NA's in Canandaigua....As you can see, there can be heavy wind in Canandaigua, all you just need to wait a few months and go to the south end of the lake!!!

Except for the RRS, I don't read books about saliing but learn by example.
I therefore, think it an idea that you too sail (and finish) the Tour-de-Lake
event at the end of this year's season.
