Loose traveller Fairlead screw

The 'outside screw' is a bolt that you can access easily under the gunwhale. If you mean the inboard 'screw' (actually a screw that goes thru the deck) You can secure this by filling the hole with a polyested putty (Plastibond is an Australian brand) and re-drilling the hole slughtly undersized for the screw shank once its cured. For a neat job mask around the hole with tape so the putty doesn't fill up the deck pattern each side.

If there is serious damage around the screw hole or it is seriously enlarged (unlikely because the screws just seem to pull-out if there is a failure) you might want to go to the trouble of filling the hole with some rolled glass and putty mix with a bead on a thread thru it so you can expand the whole thing like a rivet by pulling on the therad before cure. The latter would be needed only in exceptional circumstances - ussually straight polyester putty works fine especially if you replace the screw with a new and sharp SS sepf tapper used to secure Laser fittings.
