Looking for Rigging Advice

The more I read, the more questions I have...Can anyone give me some definitive rigging measurements of where to attach the main halyard on the upper boom? Between sail rings 9 and 10 is what I've deducted from reading; assuming 9 for lighter winds, 10 for stronger. I'm just looking for a few nice rigging options to play with for a recreational sailor. (Kind of like the gooseneck adjustment options.) Thanks, everyone.

Use a large bowline knot, and run the halyard through it 3 or 4 "wraps". That knot becomes a giant slip-knot, and you can slide it to-and-fro at your leisure to find the "sweet" spot. Tightened, it stays put.
