light up my life?

I think you will find that your REQUIRED lighting is only a flashlight to use in the vicinity of other boats. But you may want to be safer and get the flashlight type R/G bow light and white stern light. I'm positive west marine sells these for dinghies, maybe even wal-mart or similar department store. Tape it onto your bow handle or the back deck. Sailing at night is a lot of fun, enjoy it.
 
Today I bought a nifty, clamp mounted light for twenty bucks. It's white and can be attached almost anyplace where you can use the clamp. There's a green unit as well I'm told. Takes two flashlight batteries and is rubberized and waterproof.
It's made by Fulton Industries, Wauseon, Ohio. My local, Marine hardware guy ordered it for me and I had in about three days.
