I have read that there are different ways to set up the Jins Rig. Is there a best way to set this up? Also, since I am light(142) I will need to use this when the wind gets over 18. Does anyone else out there use the rig in heavy air?

seriously though, lots of peeps use the jens. try contacting someone in the class like Jean Bergman. She is light and sails very well. I'm sure she is a master of the jens.

After reading the Sunfish Bible and some back issues of the Windward Leg, there seems to be two ways to use the Jins Rig. One is to tie a second halyard with a loop around the top of the mast about 12" down. the other is to tie a 1/4" line with a tight bowline about 12" from the top of the mast with the tail going through the mast head. Then run the halyard through this line and host the sail. Which method is best?
