We're building an active fleet in Milwaukee. Ten boats (4 of them sailed exclusively by MCSC students) and 6 privately-owned boats sailed 18 races on 10 Thursday evenings this summer (2022). The program is a combination of competitive and instructional. It was the first time many of the 50 participating MCSC students ever raced aboard a boat carrying spinnakers. Part-way through the season, one of top local sailors offered his time to lead a one-day clinic. The sailing got better and better each week.

Here's our ask: Milwaukee Community Sailing Center is in the market for 2 to 3 more program boats. Not ultra-competitive, but with decent life left. We don't need motors. We can purchase your boat, but can also offer tax benefits if you are willing to make a donation. (We're a 5013c.) MCSC staff/members may be available to come to you to pick up a boat on your road worthy trailer, or we can bring an empty trailer to you and bring the boat back on it. We can move quickly this fall (so that you can avoid winter storage fees.)

What do you have? Please contact me at nick(at)sailingcenter.org or 414-277-9094.

If you don't know, MCSC is one of the leading sailing schools in the nation. We teach over 700 sailors to sail every summer. Our 800 members enjoy unlimited access to our fleet of 80 boats, including Ensigns, 420s, Solings, J-24s, and assorted cruisers and specialty boats.

Bumping this back to the top.

We are a not-for-profile sailing school in Milwaukee with a mission to help anyone/everyone learn to sail on Lake Michigan. Our program includes 4 J-24s and we need three more.

We've had a couple of deals fall thru but remain committed to a broad search for decent boats. What do you have? We'll consider all donations not requiring a rebuild and will pay fair market if you must sell.

What do you have? Please contact me at nick(at)sailingcenter.org or 414-277-9094.

And update: Happy to report that we've received a generous donation of a race-ready boat! We're still in the market for 2 more.

Also, and importantly: we need jibs and kites! Do you have used sails you'd be willing to donate to our school?

Please contact me at nick(at)sailingcenter.org or 414-277-9094.

Here's another update. The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center now has a 6 boat J-24 fleet, and including our own 6/7 entries, we expect up to 15 boats on the line for our 2023 Thursday Night Racing Series. Last year we held 18 races over 12 Thursdays and we hope to hit 20 over 13 or 14 Thursdays next summer. Some of the area's best sailors are sailing in the event (Wildcard, Aurora, Who 'dat?) We need one more donation or reasonably priced boat as a student entry and any sails that you'd be willing to part with. What do you have? Please contact me at nick(at)sailingcenter.org or 414-277-9094.

We have a J24 #2277, been stored in a heated building a number of years. Has a Parker racing bottom, done just before storage. Double axel trailer. Older sails, but could get you started. Boat well taken care of. Details if interested.

The J24 we listed, #2277, is located in Cleveland, Ohio. The boat comes with all sails and equipment. We actually trailered it to the Milwaukee YC One summer for a regatta.
