Inspection port sizes....

I believe I have seen that people use 5" inspection ports for the sunfish.

I find 4" and 6" are more common. I know 4" is too small as the one hull I have has one and I cant really reach in and I have smaller diameter arms. I can see where 5" is the minimum. I can get the 6" from West Marine, is there any reason not to go to a 6"?

If you're fussy, a 6-incher should get a raised peripheral support of 3M 4200.

Cheaper 6-inch ports are very flexible. Yeah, they'll leak some, but they can be cinched-down level with the deck with the mounting hardware and still close OK.

I like the rigid Beckson, if they're still available. If I had one to install--I'd go the 4200 route. The covers will snug-up (seal) better.
