Inspection port size?

Greetings,

I'm needing to install my first inspection port. I see they come in 4, 5, and 6" sizes.

Which size is appropriate for the spot between the splashrail and daggerboard hole?

Thanks

I used 6" on the deck and 4" in the cockpit. I needed the maximum reach, so I went with the larger size.
Second season, no issues

My Sunfish came with a 6 inch port between the splash guard and daggerboard trunk. Instead, I'd like to have had one that size in the cockpit's forward bulkhead. When the wind drops to nothing, it'd be easier to sponge out any water. Plus, much longer paddles could be stored-- like a kayak paddle. Anything stored there, like a camera, bottled water, or cellphone, is more readily accessible.

To replace a bow handle, put a small port the distance needed just to reach it from your elbow--about 18-inches back.
