Hull No Info

Hello All,

Can anyone tell me how I can determine manuf year from the hull number. Is there a web-site for this info?

It's my understanding the last two digits reflect the year, had you guessed this?

What Al says is basicly correct for the current HIN (Hull Identification Number) System. The system has changed over the years. A good article is located in the Yahoo groups Sunfish Sailor (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sunfish_sailor/) files section, title "Identifiying". It breaks down the code to manufacture, month and year and more. For boats without the HIN on the transom or metal plate behind splashrail, it helps identify the year a particular hull was made (metal trim vs rolled edges, rudder style, cockpit storage, etc.)

Thanks for the link. I quite clearly shows my boat is a Jan 1993 build date.
