Is this info ok????

Laser Performance New Laser Boat
PRICE............ u$s 8.857.- ????

From Laser Performance Price List on-line
http://www.lasersailing.com/disp/uk/laser/how-to-buy

Money change:
You have to buy 4.495 GBP

and pay 8857 USD at 1.9706

And we have to pay to carry it to ARG ang tax, and.........so it'll reach more than u$s 10.000.-:eek::eek:

I hope to be wrong.........

All the best
Dr Loser

Dear God! I hope you are wrong too! $8k US for a new Laser! Suddenly the Finn class is looking more appealing for us bigger guys. At least I could get a decent used one for that. I hope the new owners don't have their heads up their.... well you know. Although they could be thinking "Monopoly" and end up screwing the whole thing up.

Rounded up, a MOJO spec Laser from Colie Sails is going for about $6000. Why you would quote a British laser source and convert to American money is beyond me, as the price does not accurately reflect the true price of an American boat.

.

Dear Ross B

If I want to buy a Laser boat, this is the only way we have to.....I have to buy it to PERFORMANCE.

...or please tell me another way to buy it.

Another topic.
I am so proud to introduce you the web site of the new Uruguayan Laser Sailors

http://www.laseruruguay.es.tl/

Uruguay is a little country in South America, but the people is lovely, brave and good friends !!!!......and very good sailors !!!!:):)

Dr. Loser

a MOJO Laser is a Laser PRO, with upgraded lines and other packages

.

Thanks Ross B.
In Mexico, MOJO is a drink with Tequila..........teast it !!!!

I want to tell you a little more about Uruguay.

Is a very exclusive place in summer (Jan-Feb-March), If you are in ARG you have to fly 1 hour or drive 3 hours, now you can go aboard a CELEBRATION SHIP, or another line.

All the first world V.I.P. goes to Punta del Este (East Point)

.........also the gays tours goes there !!!!!

But I think that u$s 8.857.- is not cheap for this people too.......

punta.jpg

And if you want to know how the Uruguayan people is, read this book....you can not miss it !!!!!

Dear T.L.F. friends:

Surely this pic will be censured too, so I tell you that I have vacations until July 02.

See you soon !!

Dr Loser

Don't waste all that money flying to Europe to go to a football match !! Save it and put towards buying a new laser!

Dr Loser...

step one.
decide how many Lasers yu would like to buy.

Step two
Find a friend in new Zealand

Step three:
have the friend buy the lasers

Step four;
have the Lasers shipped to you.

9,400.00 NZD = 7,115.64 USD
New Zealand Dollars United States Dollars
1 NZD = 0.756983 USD 1 USD = 1.32103 NZD

http://www.boatbits.co.nz/shop/Boats+Inflatables++Kayaks/Laser+Yacht.html?id=mHYLFprN

Well done Murphs, I wondered how long it would take for someone to quote an actual price as opposed to (possibly) making them up. I noticed that the NZD price was for a standard Laser without the pro rigging. Price of the pro-rigged Laser standard is:

9,990 NZD = 7,550 USD

As Homer Simpson once said “Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. 14% of people know that.

I also found these prices online:
http://www.nblaser.com.au/new_boats.htm
8,295 AUD = 7,910 USD
Australian Dollars / United States Dollars
1 AUD = 0.953758 USD / 1 USD = 1.04848 AUD

http://www.brest.direct-sailing.com/liste_deriveur-Occasion.html
5,990 EUR = 9,360 USD
Euro / United States Dollar
1 EUR = 0.55704 USD / 1 USD = 0.642329 EUR

.

Can you tell us where you got your original New Zealand price for a new Laser of $3,736 USD from?

I get the fact that you feel hard done by and I agree that its rotten luck that you no longer have a dealer in Argentina however, 'If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem'. Get some of your doctor friends together and approach Laser Performance and make them a deal. If that doesn't work, fly up to the USA, buy 50 new Lasers, put them in containers and ship them back home. Even here in Canada I've heard of guys driving across the border and buying them in the US to save a few dollars.
Is something like this outside the realm of possibility?

.

Dear Zoophyte:
I send you a Super Special Gratefulness because you help us to think about a solution to resolve this problem.....
.....if there is any........
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!!

You know, I write big because I can not read very well......so please do not take offence if I forgot to name you.
Do not be jealous, I read you !!!!!

1º)
Or perhaps people are waiting to see your unique response to my question of where you got some of those prices from.....?
2º)
Ummm, these "quotes" of yours look really familiar, like they've been

previously posted somewhere......

My first question was:
"Is this info ok?"

And I have said:
"This is the info we have got in the web about costs."

All these info have been got for all of us !!!
....if you visit all these links you'll see that the info is ok!!!

Can you tell us where you got your original New Zealand price for a new Laser of $3,736 USD from?

A friend in this forum sent it to me in a Private Message.....and if this info is wrong,
no problem !!!!!....we keep looking for more info.

3º)
........Get some of your doctor friends together and approach Laser

Performance..........

Ok, we have a lot of solutions about this problem:
Bring the boats from Brazil, from England........

But we are waiting for an official response, nothing else.

So if we must accept that:
Till december the Laser was u$s 5.500.- and now we must pay more than u$s 10.000.-, ok, no more discussion.

If you say to your boss:
"This is the solution about the problem you have asked me, you must pay double and say nothing"

...what do you think he'd say?

We think that we must complain to the authorities and hope that they answer our questions.

We are waiting for an official response, nothing else.

All the best
Dr Loser.

Dear Zoophyte:
Do not forget this that I have written in this link:

http://www.laserforum.org/champion-south-america-t9093p2.html

What is the ILCA ????
http://www.laserinternational.org/information/whatilca.htm

Here you have a summary

Provides co-ordination,organisation and communication for the class worldwide.

Liaison with National and International authorities.

Monitors building agreements
http://www.laserinternational.org/manu.htm
(PRIMEX do not exist any more)

Positively promotes Laser sailing worldwide.

This is one of our greatest strengths.
In many other classes a lack of international communication has caused groups of sailors in different counties to become isolated and the class in that country to become extinct.
This fall off in activity eventually affects the class in established countries leaving only the truly international classes well supported.

Co-ordinates International Events Calendar.

Administers the class worldwide.

And there is a bonus!
It is quick to rig, it keeps you fit and is inexpensive !!!

Probably is not expensive for you and for a lot of people, but we are not alone in this world !!!!!

6 Continents, 122 Countries.........
One Continent is in a big trouble

All the best for you

Let me share with you this picture.
They are the Uruguayan sailor Alejandro Foglia and Argentine sailor Julio Alsogaray training for the upcoming Olympics Games in a few days.

I hope that small countries such Uruguay, may have their representatives in the future.

Congratulations to all Olympic sailors !!!!!!!!

What are the buildings, with the red roofs, on the beach? I like the architecture. Are they something special or am I looking at the Uruguayan version of McDonalds restaurants?

You could be, if the Olympics were in Uruguay...

THE OLYMPIC CHARTER

http://www.olympic.org/uk/organisation/missions/charter_uk.asp

Full text of the Olympic Charter
http://multimedia.olympic.org/pdf/en_report_122.pdf

Olympic Charter, Fundamental principles,
Paragraph 2.

"Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind.
Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles."

THE OLYMPIC MOVEMENT

According to the Olympic Charter, established by Pierre de Coubertin, the goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practised without discrimination of
any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.

http://www.olympic.org/uk/organisation/index_uk.asp

I wonder if the economic values to practice any Olimpic activity, will be not a form of discrimination in the future?

4,500 clicks is just that -- views, not individual people. Every time you go back to look at a new post, you add another view.

So, for example, 20 people actively reading a thread with 20 posts (and going back to re-read every time there's a new post) generates 400 views.

At any rate, good luck with your efforts.

Holy moses! A conspiracy you say? What devilish fiend would sit there pressing F5 all day?

It's an ILCA Agent of Confusion... I'm certain of it!

They want us to think they're watching... but they're not!

I'm on to you! You can't out think ME!

"A todos os nossos amigos e colaboradores da Boatspeed,

Informamos que em curto espaço de tempo a Boatspeed estará encerrando definitivamente as suas atividades em relação à distribuição dos produtos Laser no Brasil, bem como de produtos náuticos em geral e, se dedicando a outra área de atuação no comércio.

Mr. Tracy Usher, you know our big problem in South America.
As a common Laser sailor, please I ask you, if it is possible,
try to give ten minutes in the "Annual General Meeting" to our topic.

It could be very important if NorthAmercia District helps Central & South America to reorganize the delivery of legal Lasers to our region.

This is the "Minuta" of the Annual Meeting of ILCA-NA

"......Brent Richards from LaserPerformance gave a report summarizing the recent changes within their company.
The number of product lines at the Rhode Island manufacturing site has been decreased allowing more attention to be given to the core lines being produced there.
The company has production standardization on a global basis which ensures that there is no difference in products
from one continent to another.
Of particular note on this idea is that the spars are now being imported to the US site and then sold to North American
dealers leaving no difference between North American spars and European spars.

Richards said that there is continued work on the development of composite uppers, sail design and blades...."

I want to ask something to Mr. Brent Richards from LaserPerformance:

If I live in Uruguay, Perú, Brasil, Argentina, Chile and I want to buy a Laser for my daugther,

Where may I buy it ????

.......Rhode Island ??????
Laser Performance U.K. ?????
How much is a new Laser?

************************************************

........Rhode Island ??????
Laser Performance U.K. ?????
Cuánto cuesta un Lasar Nuevo ???

Best regards
Dr. Loser :)

"The number of product lines at the Rhode Island manufacturing site has been decreased allowing more attention to be given to the core lines being produced there.

a company that is pursuing this business model is not interested in growing a market. It's a cost cutting exercise, resulting in lower overheads, higher profit margin. Establishing a new market is not a cost cutting exercise, it's an investment and requires a different model and executive mindset. So I'm fairly certain that Brent Richards is the wrong person to ask - maybe LaserPerformance are the wrong company to approach...period. Who else can provide what you need that is in the business of expansion rather than consolidation?

LaserPerformance may well be the assigned supplier to S.A. but if they are refusing to supply their market for economic reasons, it may be possible to get the ILCA to switch the S.A. region to the Australian manufacturer/exporter:

Performance Sailcraft Pty Ltd

Performance Sailcraft Pty Ltd are a company based in Ourimbah in the Australian state of New South Wales. Their main business area is yachts.

Performance Sailcraft Pty Ltd have 5 members of staff. International companies interested in importing from Australia are welcome to use the contact details below.

Operations Manager
Maria Skulander

At a glance:
Company name: Performance Sailcraft Pty Ltd
Main business activities: Yachts

The obvious problem being that L.P may get twitchy at being accused of not pulling their weight. It's all money and politics afterall and if there are enough ears turned toward L.P's executive, regardless of reality, then nothing will happen.

Hi everybody !

You know very well this topic :

"BE A CHAMPION IN SOUTH AMERICA"
http://www.laserforum.org/champion-south-america-t9093.html

We know that the next ILCA World Council for Regional Presidents will be held in Spain in early October 2008.

Probably, or surely, the october agenda now is full,
but SOUTH AMERICA TOPIC SHOULD BE INCLUDED.

Like an example, the agenda of the ILCA-North America Annual General Meeting & Minutes, were published in this link:

http://www.ilcana.org/index.php?opti...=516&Itemid=47

So I ask to the members of T.L.F.:

Will the next ILCA World Council AGENDA be publish ???
Where can we find it ?

Best Regards
Dr. Loser :)

I think unfortunately, that the October meeting you are referring to was held in October 2007 at the Masters Worlds in Roses in Spain in October 2007.

If you look at the minutes you referred to in your other thread

www.ilcana.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=439&Itemid=117

you will see that they were actually minutes of the June 2007 referring to the meeting that coming October.

The results of the meeting were then briefly referred to here

www.ilcana.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=468&Itemid=117

at point 5.

I think the last meeting of the World Council was probably the one held in Australia at the Worlds early this year and maybe there will not be another full meeting until the next worlds in Canada in 2009.

.

Hi Sudakas !!! :):):):)

I have recieved the notice that in next OCTOBER 2008 will take place ILCA World Council for Regional Presidents Meeting in London.

Is so difficult to find something out about it.................Why ?

If I know more, I let you know Sudaka.
