My new Vanguard hiking strap kit consists of a black strap with stitched loops at each end , a stainless plate just wider than the strap, an eye strap 4 self threading screws and piece of white line.
My boat has a cubby, no inspection ports . I weigh 180 and want to be back on the water this wekend Aug 11th Hopefully hiking with some assurance .
Am ready to install a 5 inch port( just purchased) next to dagger board slot and install bolts thru to the stainless plate and secure forward end of strap . Am stuck on a good way to proceed at cubby.
Any advice welcome on positioning of inspection port , height of fixed strap above floor of cockpit and tips on installing rear attachment .
