Yacht Race and Chili Cook-Off
November 6, 2004

On Tuesday, September 22, terrorists in Iraq tragically murdered Jack Hensley, the brother of fellow Lake Wylie Sailor and Catawba Yacht Club Member Ty Hensley. Jack was in Iraq to help rebuild schools and other public facilities after the war. Jack is survived by his wife Pati and daughter Sara. In order to help secure Sara’s academic future, Catawba Yacht Club has organized the 1st Annual Hensley Cup Yacht Race and Chili Cook-Off. All of the proceeds from this event will go to the Sara Hensley Trust Fund.

If you have a sailboat, please bring it out and join us for this fun event to help raise money for a very good cause. Power boaters are encouraged to come out and follow the fleet in support of this event. If you don’t own a boat and wish to participate, please come enjoy the chili cook-off. There will be a silent auction and raffle as well.
