help with mainsheet diameter

Hi Everyone,

I having been using my neighbor's laser which does not have a proper mainsheet. When looking online it says I should get something btn 6-7mm which seems way too thin. Thinking I need 1/2 inch double braided nylon line. Can someone advise and also recommend an online site to shop? I am recreationally sailing on a lake. Thanks. Ed

Definitely 6 mm.

Having used 6, 7 and 8 mm recreationally I’d suggest 7mm. 6 mm is great but not for everyone, especially if you’re just puttering
