Hatch cover

Never mind .... doesn't look like that one fits, and neither do any of the common sizes made by Bowmar, etc. What have other people with mod 1's done to better seal the cuddy? In my case, a weathered plywood hatch with a few screws holding it on was all that sealed the cuddy.

Modifications

I'll see about going over to the inlaws where the boat is stored to take pictures. I used two brass hinges just above the hiking strap brackets. A piece of MDF composite cut to the shape(traced the bow box I removed) and a bracket pin style clasp. I've been debating for a while now using hardwood and actual hatch style closures.

Hi ejholmgren --

I found a plastic, allegedly watertight hatch that I shoehorned into the space on a 1987Mod One last year with a fair bit of fussing and trimming. It's worked out okay so far. Here's the link to the post on 5/29 last year with the info:

Just picked that same model up from Tuppens Marine and Tackle http://www.tuppens.com/webstore.html?info=1646. I've had my C14 now for a month and a half now and have yet to sail her due to the lack of a hatch. Having a 12' Butterfly / 16' MC Scow in the driveway and a fleet full of Flying Scots that want crew makes that seem like much less of a pressing issue :p
