I bought a 2003 Worlds SF. The boat has only been sailed 10-20 times. Last week the gooseneck cracked and broke off at a regatta. There was a Vanguard Rep there so I bought a new one. The problem is this, when I went to put the new gooseneck on, it was way to tight for the boom. I had to wedge a piece of wood in there to try and force it open in order to get it on the boom. I did finally get it on the boom and have sailed with it twice. However, it is still very tight and cannot be adjusted while on the water, "I do have the adjustable version". The only way to adjust it is with an rubber hammer while on land! Any thoughts would be appreciated.
