Going sailing

Just bought a 1975 in pretty good shape for $200.

Asking price was $300.

I took Breeze Benders advise and responded to the Marketplace ad with the fact that I was 30 minutes away, could leave right now and had cash.

Oops, no mast.
How about $200?
( I had a spare mast at home).
Sold.

I really like that boat's colors. I have a 1962 white boat with no stripes, blue trim. The deck looked like yours until I cleaned it with "bar keeper friend" which is kinda like Comet cleaner. Then I wet sanded it with 1000 grit paper before giving a coat of wax. Came out looking like new.

Find one cheap but make sure it has a VIN and registration papers or it’s near impossible to register (at least in CT) Soon you’ll be restoring trailers and Sunfish...

Not a problem in New Hampshire. I'd even sail with that outdated sticker. (It's the right color).

Is that hull damage to the left of the sweater? Or just a leaf stuck to the chine?

Most trailers that I call about do not have paperwork.
Although the seller quickly adds that I can just register it as home-made.
I'll pass on that for now.

The boat isn’t what I was referring to- no registration required in CT, either. The TRAILER is another matter. Without paperwork and a visible VIN just keep on walking! Homemade is Ok IF you’ve got previous registration documents.
