Free Nav Maps!

I heard Navionics is now offering free U.S. government maps automatically included on the mobile apps. Anybody know anything about this? I do know that Navionics offers Sonar charts that help with navigating shallow areas, which has been useful to us in the past.

they are not free but don't cost a lot of $$. They do work out great for the shallows. I use they on the east coast when sailing back there

Apparently they do have some free charts, though they aren't the sonar charts. The app now comes with free government maps and you can enhance your maps and features by purchasing the Navionics maps. http://www.navionics.com/en/news/us-government-charts-free-navionics-boating-app
