Fixing Both Halyard-Fairlead and Deck-Cleat at Same Time...

Not such a good idea... :( I cut a comma-shaped section out of the deck (to include both). 'Turns out, it's a complicated area to replace the factory's wooden backup pieces.

There are wide variations in fiberglass thickness in that area. (One block had fallen, but both wood blocks were still in good shape). :rolleyes:

I'll still fix it OK, but I should have cut a 7-inch diameter section for access from the bottom. (Leaving the two large white Styrofoam flotation blocks untouched).
 
I installed one round port. It’s possible to reach inside and add aluminum backer plates, bolts, nuts, Calk.
