Fixing a hole in the deck...

... to stop my mind from wandering where it will go.

Sorry if you've heard this before. I think I posted to the Sunfish Forum by mistake (Sunfish!) early this week. My first post to the Laser Forum and it goes astray. Sounds like my racing career.

My 1976 Laser deck was stabbed with a metal girder which has created a hole dime-sized in diameter that appears to go very deep. Any repair tips are welcome.

Thanks
Mark

You posted in 'General Sailing Talk' which is shared between TLF and TSF.

PS: a picture would help to visualize the damage.

chances are you can fix it with a simple gelcoat patch... if it goes all the way through you'll have to think about doing some fiberglass work.

either way... the deck is usually an easy spot to fix... it's nice and flat :D
