My buddy has a Jersey Angel that was purchased in the Ocean City, NJ area in the 1960's. It looks to be an exact copy of a sunfish. Fiberglass with wooden coaming. Any one have any info on these boats? Label says " Fisher Marine Products 417"

Thanks!

rc,

This boat sounds like an AMFlite. Does it look like this?: amflite sailboat - Google Search

The AMFlite was by AMF, a long time builder of the Sunfish. The underbody of the hull was identical to the Sunfish, but the deck and cockpit was a single piece not a separate deck and cockpit. The coaming was molded intro the deck and had two mahogany caps that screwed into the raised coaming. A lot of these features were also used in the AMF Minifish built later.

I wonder if Jersey Angel is the boat’s name. The Jersey Devil is what the NHL team is named after, the boat may be the opposite.

Jersey Angel also seems like an odd name for a boat if the intention was to market it nationally.
