First sail!

So my son and I just sailed our new to us, free, sunfish. He has sailed many sunfish in the past but this was my first time on any type of sail boat. After riding a bit I took over. It wasn't long before I was up on edge and launched out. I'll need a few more lessons before venturing out on my own.

Congratulations. :) The Sunfish has the distinction of "Teaching America to sail". It's a simple boat, but there's still much to go wrong!

The recent America's Cup races have increased America's interest in sailing. Most folks don't want to spend six-figures+ on a sailboat, so "free" means you're going get the simple pleasure of changing the scenery using a free wind.

I'd first avoid that awkward moment when you find yourself "Getting into Irons" and how to get out; otherwise, everything else should come to you naturally.
