I just finished making a new daggerboard out of mahogany.
Now it is time to epoxy the wood. Should I thin the first coat of epoxy or is that unnecessary?
How much epoxy do I need for each coat?
How many coats should I apply.
No thinning needed. Buy the smallest kit of resin and hardener that you can, and we recommend using the Special Clear Hardener, it will no turn amber and needs no sanding or rinsing between coats. 2 coats are plenty so do 3 if you like
That looks good but I already had some total boat slow cure Marine epoxy on hand. How long would you say I need to let it cure before I sand down any uneven areas.

Hey JV, if possible, do you mind documenting template used, techniques, etc. you used in making the board, as well as the epoxying steps you're currently working on?
It would be a great addition to the forum's information.
