Some cool regattas coming up on the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay
June 17-18: Summer One Design Regatta, organized by the Rock Hall Yacht Club.

This is a low-stress, two-day regatta with excellent race management in a beautiful, quiet, setting on the Chester River. The club encourages camping on its vast lawn and the facilities, including pool and showers, are up-to-date.
Last year, six Sunfish ventured out; it would be great if a similar number would get on the water this year. The Notice of Race somehow left out our beloved fish, but the vice commodore told me that we are VERY welcome. So, "no worry, mates" about that.
Many other fleets are likely to be on the water as well: A-cats (fast), Chesapeake 20s, I-14s (fast to capsize), Wayfarers, etc., to mention a few. Fun to watch and to be around all these other boats. After the races, it's back to the club for relaxation and a great dinner (buffet style). Entertainment too, with a band and dancing. Or take a dip in the pool. Or both…
The day before (June 16), the Down River Race is scheduled. This is a point to point race down the Chester River with appropriate (Portsmouth) handicaps. The start is in Chestertown. For more info go to http://www.rockhallyc.org/
