Has anybody found a bracket that works for making a DIY motor mount for their boat? Looking at the mount from Catalina Direct, and it just is tough to justify $140 for two brackets and some HDPE.

There are many mounts available from the different suppliers such as West Marine that are less expensive. Most that I have seen have the mounting board parallel to the mounting surface, and since the transom is vertical, they will require some wedges on the mounting surface to allow the motor to be at the correct angle to the water. I used starboard to make wedges, but if you want a mount that will work without extra work, get the mount from Catalina direct.
