Dinghy classes in the UK

Hey,

I'm not sure how many english people are here but thought I'd ask anyway.

I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of the double-handed dinghy classes that are popular in the uk.

My boyfriend and I are looking at heading over there at some point in the near future and would like to get a boat to sail (and race fairly competitively) while we are there.

Currently we sail a 125 dinghy - single trapeze and symmetric kite, and we would be after something similar to this. However, we would be up for the challenge of learning how to use an asymmetric spinnaker.

Also, it needs to be something that doesn't require a huge amount of strength from the skipper. I am only 55kgs so I will never have a large degree of upper-body strength.

We are looking at moving up to a Cherub at some point - are they popular over there?

Thanks everyone. :)

They may not suit you, but fireballs are very popular in the UK I think, and so are enterprises/Lazy E's/National E's.
