I have read that it is a good idea to place some type of foam in the front and rear of the box to keep the board from moving. Can you use the window insulation foam which has an adhesive peel of strip? if not, what should you use and what is the best way to have it stick to the box?
I use a tape I found at Woodworkers Warehouse. It's about 1/32 thick and 3/4" wide. I use it in the daggerboard trunk, two strips around the mast for a no wobble fit and a strip on top of the tiller so the bridle doesn't rub. This stuff is nearly indistructable and sticks like crazy. It is used to line drawer slides to make them run freely. It will last 2-4 years of hard abuse. I believe it's called UHMW tape. APS sells it at about 10 times the cost of a woodworking store.
