NOTICE OF RACE


1. RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the “rules” as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS 2005-2008) and those of the International Laser Class Association (ILCA).
1.2 Racing Rule(s) will be changed as follows:
Competitors shall wear a Coast Guard Approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD) at all times while afloat, except when adding or removing clothing. This changes 40.1.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 Three boats are required to form a class. The Regatta is open to all boats of the Laser Standard, Laser Radial, and 4.7 Classes.
3.2 ILCA membership is required.
3.3 Eligible boats may enter at registration at LYC.

4. FEES
4.1 $40 adults. $35 for Junior sailors, a Junior being born after 1-1-89. The fee includes regatta entry fee, regatta T-shirt, and MEALS--2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 1 dinner.
4.2 Coaching session Friday evening with district champ Rick Rothenbuhler--FREE.
4.3 Membership in the ILCA may be purchased at registration. There will be a lottery for one free membership.

5. SCHEDULE:
5.1 Registration: Friday afternoon, May 11, 4-5, 8-9PM, Saturday morning, May 12, 8-10AM
5.2 Friday
Coaching session with Rick Rothenbuhler beginning at 5PM, rigging demo, 6PM, on-the-water coaching, 8PM, chalk talk and local conditions.
5.3. Saturday:
Skippers meeting at 10:15 AM
1st race Saturday at 11AM
No race to start after 4 PM
5.4 Sunday
1st race at 9:30 AM
No race started after 12:30 PM Sunday.

6. MEASUREMENT & EQUIPMENT
Each competitor is responsible for ensuring their equipment is in compliance with the Laser Class rules. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the regatta.

7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS will be available at check in.

8. PRIZES
In each class, one trophy will be awarded for 1-5 boats, two trophies for 6-10 boats, three trophies for 11+ boats. Additional prizes may be awarded for Top sailors in Female, Junior, Apprentice Master, Master, Grand Master, and Great Grand Master categories, depending on competitor turnout.

Sunday Breakfast of cereal, bagels, coffee, juice, 8 AM
Warning signal 9 AM
1st race at 9:30 AM
No race started after 12:30 PM Sunday.
Lunch and trophies awarded after racing

Camping is permitted on the grounds and in the clubhouse on Friday and Saturday nights. No electricity. No pets, please. Fires only in portable fireplaces.
