Compass again: Silva 103R or 103RE?

Dear all,

I was also convinced of the advantages of using a compass.
Now I have to decide which one to buy.
I need a compass that I can easily use on different hulls, so the
Silva 103 mounted on the "Spider" seemed to most reasonable for me.
(correct?)
But,the Silva 103 is available as 103R with a tactical scale or as 103RE with
two 360° scales shifted according to the position of the lubber lines.
Which one would you prefer?
Any opinions or recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

If you have not used a compass before I would strongly suggest you get the 103R. When you are tying to figure out what the thing is telling you in 20 knots of breeze I guarantee you that less becomes more. The 103R is so simple as it has only one number to worry about. I'm sure those who have mastered it will prefer the 103RE, but more numbers = harder to understand. This is why I use the 103R, as do most of the better sailors I know.

I don't think that if there are 20 knots you will look the compass...:)And I look the compass only in the pre-start..

if the wind change...and the part of the
race is more convenient..after that I choose the best place for the start
