Class Legal?

I have a '76 laser that I got for free and have slowly been upgrading for racing. The hull is in extremely good shape for its age and a couple things have needed some repairs, but nothing big.

However, it is missing grab rails and an autobailer. There are holes in the side if the deck that I sealed over which seem to imply there at one time were grab rails, but there is no indication of an autobailer. While these things are nice conveniences, is it still class legal not to have them? I'd rather not spend the time and money on them if I don't need to.

Autobailer is not a class requirement. The grab rails are (the boat has always has them)

Also, you may decide you want grab rails after you capsize to windward because you couldn't get back in from hiking. And the bailer is useful even though it's a bit of an awkward design. It streamlines the Laser bottom as well.

i doubt your going to sail a 76 in a regatta big enough were it matters. at midwinters all they check is your sail
