Attached is a photo of what's left of my neighbor's 1960s vintage Sunfish hull after a recent fall windstorm on Cazenovia Lake here in Upstate New York. The hull is a total loss and it is off to the landfill for the "long dirt nap" after we chainsaw up the errant tree. R.I.P.

I hate to be the one to to point out the obvious but...that's a pretty rotten tree there. Perhaps some timely chainsaw work would have prevented this catastrophe. Not many of us would have put our boats under such a likely deadfall. :D:D:D
 
that is just plain awful. I had mine parked out near the tree-line at my father's house a few winters back, and was lucky to not having any damage like that. I was pretty close to some really old and huge oak trees along the swamp, too.

maybe I can sucker him into letting me store it in his barn again this year. :)
