carpet or pad under hull on beach

OK, we just re gelcoated our hull and want to keep it nice. Our lake shoreline is very rocky, for rigging and beaching has anyone experimented with outdoor carpet of a pad of some kind to protect the hull?

Would a Seitech/Dynamic dolly work? I use it for rigging in a parking lot, rolling it down to the water. Have launched and retrieved off rough beaches. My hull really hasn't touched ground.

'Sounds like a good idea, but I don't know about a big Sunfish logo. Artificial turf is made in several thicknesses. They might send samples:

Instead of putting astroturf on the topside...why not just glue on a smaller piece on the bottom? That way you're not carpeting the whole beach.
Which thread is this time zone in?

DOn't you have a bunch of Scouts to hold the boat over their heads?

Tip: Put red squares on their hats, if you can't see the square they are in too deep. That's what we did with the Landing Support Battalion Marines in the Corps.

In the meantime I'd buy some marine grade-outdoor grade carpet from Lowes and use that.
