Capri 14.2 Nat. Meeting Minutes, 9/18/04

Ed Jones

Secretary/Vice Commodore
Continuing a long tradition, the annual meeting of the Capri 14.2 National Association was held on Saturday night of the National Championships, September 18, 2004. The site was the main dining room of the Mission Bay Yacht Club; most of the participants in the Nationals were present.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Commodore Jim Ach
Jim welcomed Kent Nelson from the Catalina factory who made a few remarks, and passed on best wishes from Frank Butler.
Old Business: The question of replacing centerboards in older C-14.2s was addressed by Kent. He said the factory can supply correct centerboards for any year C-14.2. They are made to order by the factory, and delivery can take as long as 3 weeks.
New Business: A proposal was made to require that PFDs be worn at the Nationals. It was noted that carrying PFDs is required by the Coast Guard, that most of the racers were wearing them, and that the host club may have rules about requiring PFDs to be worn. After some discussion, a vote was taken and the proposal was defeated.
The next Nationals will be held at Mission Bay on September 17-18, 2005, hosted by Mission Bay Yacht Club.
National Association officers for 2005 were elected by acclaim: Jim Ach, Commodore, Ed Jones, Secretary, and Jay Gross, Treasurer.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
