Bronze Clear Coat?

I've made a new rudder for my sunfish (originally without a rudder) and have robbed the old bronze fittings from a sailfish, buying a new connecting bolt. I am waiting for good weather to align the rudder to the existing boat fittings on the sunfish. The sailfish bronze fittings will then be bolted to the rudder.

As I wait, the bronze fittings called to be cleaned, sanded, and brightened. just finished. Is there a way to preserve the brightness, ie: a clear-coat, a varnish, or spray?

Yeah you could definitely clear coat them, go buy a rattle can of clear coat. It sure won't hurt.

clear coat on anything is a safe bet! i always clear coat everything
