News Barton Marine Laser kits

"Barton Laser Kits are now legal for the Laser Class"

NOT legal, of course. It takes some media literacy these days to know that "the Laser Class" does not mean the actual Laser class...

(Funny though that besides the vang cleating fitting, the deck plates, and a tiny ball at the outhaul fairlead, those setups are quite legal. No great innovations there.)

What do you mean?
"The Laser Class", capitalized like that and without the "International", is the name of a breakaway class which is in fact the political wing of LaserPerformance, the former English builder who still holds the "Laser" trademark in most countries.

It's a long story, but for this thread I'll just repeat that Barton's vang cleating fittings and deck plates are NOT LEGAL. Their (just like anyone else’s) blocks and cleats are fine.

There are several threads about "TLC" in the ”Laser Class Politics” forum.

(Nice Fireball, by the way  )
